The GMAT Focus Edition (from 2023) is shorter, now only has 3 sections (Quantitative, Verbal, Data Insights), eliminates the Analytical Writing Assessment (AWA) essay, and integrates a portion of the old Integrated Reasoning into the new Data Insights section. Test-takers can bookmark questions, review, and change answers within each section.
Data Insights assesses the ability to analyze and interpret data from various sources (graphs, tables, text) to make data-driven decisions. It combines skills from the former Integrated Reasoning section and part of the old Quantitative section's Data Sufficiency.
Although there isn't a separate AWA exam, clear and logical writing and communication skills remain extremely important for writing personal essays (Statement of Purpose/Essays) in MBA applications and throughout future academic and professional careers.
No. Test-takers are not permitted to use a calculator in the Quantitative Reasoning section of the GMAT Focus Edition. All calculations must be performed manually or mentally.
No. The Sentence Correction question type has been removed from the GMAT Focus Edition. The Verbal Reasoning section now focuses on Reading Comprehension and Critical Reasoning.
Intertu updates its curriculum and teaching methods to align with the latest GMAT Focus Edition structure, focusing on test-taking strategies for each section (Quantitative, Verbal, Data Insights), and providing intensive training in data analysis and effective problem-solving skills.
