IB Spanish Ab Initio is a Spanish course specially designed for students with little to no prior experience with the language. As part of the Language Acquisition group, the goal of Ab Initio is not native-like fluency, but rather to equip students with basic and effective communicative competence in everyday situations.

The program focuses on the balanced development of Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing skills, and more importantly, fosters an understanding and appreciation of the culture(s) of Spanish-speaking countries, helping students become more open-minded global citizens.
